Fire Code Enforcement
Caldwell Hays ESD 1 has adopted the current Hays County Fire Code and its associated amendments. Effective October 1, 2022, Caldwell Hays ESD 1 will begin to enforce the fire code for all new commercial construction projects and begin initiating a service area-wide maintenance inspection program for existing commercial facilities.

Travis County ESD 11/15 - 2015 International Fire Code along with Travis County amendments.
Caldwell / Hays ESD 1- 2018 International Fire Code along with Hays County amendments.
Need for Local Enforcement
As the service area of TCFR continues to grow in complexity and density, the intimate involvement of the local responding fire department becomes necessary. TCFR has recognized the need to couple fire code enforcement with fire suppression to provide a holistic approach to fire protection. TCFR resources provide the opportunity to deliver the best fire prevention services to the community.
